PLASTIC PEACHES

... from Essen, Germany play a combination of grunge, dream pop and indie music. The classic rock outfit is complemented by synthesizer sounds and a saxophone. While the woodwind instrument nonchalantly joins an overdriven guitar, disco beats also frame punk rock basslines seamlessly. Maja, Alina, Eugen and Daniel find inspiration in bands like Nirvana, The 1975, Sleater-Kinney and Wet Leg. The two female voices offer melancholic insights into personal stories that tell about weltschmerz and the pains of coming of age. Formed in 2022, the band continually released their first singles Cobalt Blue, Faking It and Moldy Peaches, all with music videos produced on their own, and will release their debut album in 2024.

Plastic Peaches aus Essen machen eine Mischung aus Grunge, Dream Pop und Indie. Die klassische Besetzung wird dabei um Synthesizer und Saxophon ergänzt. Letzteres wird ebenso nonchalant in verzerrten Gitarrensound gebettet, wie sich Disco-Beats unaufgeregt zu Punkrock-Basslines gesellen. Inspiration finden Maja, Alina, Eugen und Daniel bei Bands wie Nirvana, The 1975, Sleater-Kinney und Wet Leg. Die beiden weiblichen Stimmen berichten von Weltschmerz und Coming-Of-Age – stets temperiert durch Melancholie und Wut. Die 2022 gegründete Band releaste seitdem kontinuierlich ihre ersten Singles Cobalt Blue, Faking It und Moldy Peaches, allesamt mit Musikvideos aus Eigenregie. Für 2024 ist in Zusammenarbeit mit Andi Weizel (u.a. Frida Gold) das Release des Debüt-Albums geplant.
